Walid El Hefny is a research associate in the Computational Linguistics department at the University of Tübingen. He is also an associated researcher in the Language and AI in Education group at the Leibniz-Institut für Wissensmedien (IWM). He is a member of the AI2Teach project, where he maintains the web-based intelligent tutoring system (FeedBook) used in the study. Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate with research interests in machine learning prediction tasks in intelligent tutoring systems.
Walid El Hefny received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from the German University in Cairo (GUC) in 2018 and 2022 respectively. His research focused on designing a framework for building personalized chatbots which he published several papers about. Moreover, he worked as a teaching assistant and researcher at the German University in Cairo (GUC) for four years. He also worked as a part-time teaching assistant at the German International University in Cairo (GIU Cairo). His teaching activities included teaching students from both universities (GUC and GIU Cairo) for two semesters in the semester exchange program hosted at the German International University in Berlin (GIU Berlin).
